FAQs

You are very welcome to call or email any questions you have but here are some FAQS which may help:

1. Do I have to have a piano or keyboard at home? Yes you do. Although we do a lot of work in the lesson you will need to practice during the week at home to make progress.

2. French horns are very expensive. Do I have to buy my own instrument? You will need your own instrument and probably best to buy one in the end. However, at the beginning you can rent one from the Nottingham Music Service and Lesley can help you with going about this. When it comes to buying, not all horns are expensive. You'll probably find some good secondhand or student models but, again, Lesley can help you with this.

3. Do I have to do exams? No you don't. A lot of students do but there is no obligation to do so.

4. How much do lessons cost? A half hour lesson is £17 and an hour is £34. These are paid half termly in advance.

5. Do you do consultation lessons? Yes, Lesley does and they are a really good way of finding out whether this is likely to be a good student/teacher fit. The fee for a half hour consultation is £17 and £34 for an hour.
